Laboratory

Via Giuseppe Verdi 19, Piacenza, Italy

The laboratory (my second home) that I chose was fundamental in reaching the painting levels that I imposed on myself: from the windows overlooking the internal courtyard, in fact, the light filters indirectly and by different intensities: the maximum you could wish for!

The raw material

I always use fir from Tarvisio and Balkan maple which I age in my laboratory, with all the necessary calm that is a conditio sine qua non to obtain the desired results.

The ritual

In the morning, first I close the door of the laboratory and turn on the music (from Bach to Shostakovich, according to the day): when I’m sure that the world has remained outside, I start painting, then I continue with the tool in progress until in the evening, when I pick up the touch-up brushes.

The continuous research

I am comforted to know that the unexpected can only come from outside, in fact on the workbenches everything is “predictable”: you just have to try to do what you did the previous time, improving it, if possible.
